Our uncompromising commitment to quality
‘At Cambridge ESOL, our commitment to excellence has led us to develop rigorous systems of quality. In the publication Principles of Good Practice we outline the systems that drive our search for excellence and describe how the work of Research & Validation puts quality at the heart of everything we do.
The greatest asset we have in delivering quality is the commitment and expertise of our staff. Our Research & Validation team is the largest dedicated research team of any UK-based language assessment organisation.
The systems of quality we put in place are subject to independent checks and standards, providing accountability and giving confidence to those who rely on our exams. These include:
- the ISO 9001 international standard for quality management systems
- regulations set by Ofqual, the UK regulator of assessments
- auditing by the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE).
To assist teachers, education policy makers and other researchers in evaluating our exams we publish exam reliability data and grade statistics.
The expertise of our staff, combined with rigorous quality systems and an accountable and transparent approach enable us to offer assessment that is fit for purpose and has provable validity and reliability.’
